What Makes Us Different?
Truly Custom. Truly Beautiful.
Truly Custom. Truly Beautiful.
Custom Wine Cellars Theirs Vs. ours
Where others use pre-assembled modules from overseas, we custom build your wine cellar from scratch to fit precisely into your home.
Where others use MDF, particle board, medite, melamine or products with added formaldehyde, we use sustainably harvested solid hardwood, real solid plywood, high end wine racking, authentic hardwood ply panel and apply solid hardwood nosing for all our wine cellar construction.
Where others mass produce hundreds of cellars that look alike, our design team, along with Rollin and Ronny, create a unique design for every wine cellar we build.

We do not use MDF, particleboard, melamine or any products of that nature. There is no added formaldehyde in any of our wood products. Sleeping Grape Wine Cellars specializes in sustainably harvested B.C. hardwoods including Maple, Cherry, Alder, Birch and Beech and real solid plywood. We also have access to exotic woods like Anegre, Black Walnut and Brazilian Cherry. The majority of our wood arrives rough-cut and kiln dried from a local mill. We take the wood from its original state right through to the completion of your wine cellar. Solid hardwoods are used in the construction of the wine racking and wine cellar doors. Components that require more stability, such as our cabinets and countertops, are made from domestic core, furniture grade plywood, with hardwood veneers and finished with solid hardwood nosings.
Our stains can either be hand rubbed into the wood in order to intensify its beauty and character and/or machined for exact precision and consistency. Both sprayed and hand rubbed have their own benefits. Hand rubbed is more labour intensive than spraying stains on, but allows the attributes of the wood to fluctuate and create a beautiful uniqueness, resulting in a far more impressive end result. To seal and protect the wood, a low VOC, water based, clear lacquer finish is applied.
