About Rollin Fox and Sleeping Grape Wine Cellars
Rollin Fox is Designer and President of Sleeping Grape Wine Cellars. With an architectural technician and an artist for parents, it’s no surprise that he has a knack for understanding design that many have described as intuitive. Rollin has been working in and around homes for over 20 years, building his first wine cellar in 1998. When he took over as master cellar builder of the year-old Sleeping Grape in 2005, he brought with him his strong understanding of architectural processes and design. In 2008, Rollin purchased the company from the original owner and continues to push the envelope in creating masterpieces that not only meet the needs of the wine and clients, but are also works of art.
“There is an excitement that comes from taking a rough concept, polishing the design with the homeowner and then making it real” says Rollin. “There is nothing compared to walking through a completed wine cellar that previously had been a handful of ideas and drawings suspended within imagination.”
What is involved in commissioning a wine cellar?
If you are interested in adding a custom wine cellar of uncompromising quality to your home, contact Sleeping Grape. A qualified representative will speak with you about the space you are planning to use for your wine cellar, asking questions such as:
- Where is the room situated?
- Are there any exterior walls?
- How close is the room to the service panel?
- Is this a new build, or an existing home?
- What are the approximate dimensions of the room?
In most cases, we will arrange to have a look at the space so that we can gather the information needed to give you the best advice. It isn’t necessary that you have your wine cellar design idea worked out yet – we can do this with you. If Sleeping Grape Wine Cellars works with you right from the concept stage, you can rest assured that you will arrive at the best possible wine cellar design.
After looking at the space and speaking with you, we will get back to you within a few days with initial wine cellar design ideas. Once we have established a fairly clear idea of the cellar design, we can generate an initial quote. Tweaks and changes can be made to make it perfect for you. If you wish to proceed, we are ready to make your wine cellar dreams come true! Once we are underway, you are still welcome to add or change the design during the design stage. Whenever there are changes from the initial design, we provide revised cost estimates.
The size and complexity of the wine cellar affects how long it takes to custom build. Delivery time depends upon how many wine cellars we currently have on commission. If you are planning to commission a wine cellar, Sleeping Grape Wine Cellars will provide you with an estimated installation date.
The final result will be a one-of-a-kind, luxurious wine cellar, the quality of which is unparalleled in Western Canada. Contact Sleeping Grape today to get started on your custom wine cellar.
